I would just type a bunch of nonsensical gibberish here, but for a video like this, I think a more detailed explanation is required.

So, some time after YouTube Kids was introduced in late 2014, its rather unmoderated nature compared to actual kid-directed streaming platforms was exploited by shady channels en masse, sometimes stealing old accounts like this one which uploaded the famous Leeroy Jenkins video in 2006. Their main goal was to exploit the autoplay feature which works most effectively on those who have not developed the capacity to stop watching YouTube, look elsewhere on their own, or install an ad blocker. In the process of doing so, many of the kids watching these videos have been exposed to material highly inappropriate for them, often very violent. This kind of content often slipped past the attention of parents who were convinced that an iPad is a sufficient substitute for a nanny or daycare center.

One early notorious kids channel called Toys in Japan mass produced two kinds of nursery rhyme videos from 2016 to early 2017 or so, being Finger Family and Five Little Monkeys. As you may guess, the production quality was terrible, and reused the same template over and over again with different 3D models and hardly any incremental "improvements" to the formula. This channel became the butt of all jokes and a spicy thing for cynical commentators to dunk on, thanks to its extreme absurdities like showing characters farting in a toilet in the middle of nowhere and using notoriously evil historical figures. The video you see here is a direct piss take on that channel.

While Toys in Japan slipped from the attention of ironic fans, the influx of inappropriate "kids" channels raged on. Not that YouTube wanted to bother putting a stop to it; they were raking in a ton of cash from the ad revenue, something that normal channels could no longer sufficiently provide thanks to the multiple adpocalypses which YouTube handled so poorly. Eventually, a group of advocates for children's privacy got the FTC to sue YouTube since the site was unquestionably mining the viewing activity of children without parental approval. So what did YouTube do about this? Shift the burden on the common folk who give the site its backbone in the first place! In the end, little was changed apart from reducing the overall quality of the experience of watching videos on YouTube.

Please, don't ever let children have iPhones or iPads. The new generations are being damaged and exploited by predatory companies and channels without mercy. Do your part to stop this corruption!

My son watched this. It made him super interested in whales and fingers, and I can't help but recommend it to children who's brains are still being generated.
