How so? It's all thanks to the 256KB of L2 cache installed on this system. It's a certain kind too; you're very often going to see L2 cache in the form of a couple large chips on Socket 7 boards, technically called pipeline burst cache. Older L2 cache came in four or eight DIP modules, and PC magazine ads from early 1996 bragged a ton about pipeline burst cache. The S3 Virge being used here is actually capable of 3D acceleration, but it is AWFUL. Seriously, it's worse than software rendering on the 486 I showed.
